Introducing Taekwon-Do
Taekwon-do is a martial art that was founded in Korea which combines combat techniques, self-defense, sport, exercise, meditation, and philosophy.
Tae means "to strike or break with foot"; kwon means "to strike or break with fist"; and do means "way," "method," or "art." Thus, taekwondo may be loosely translated as "the art of the foot and fist" or "the art of kicking and punching."
People come to us from all walks of life, each with their own reasons for wanting to train in martial arts. Some want to learn self-defense, some seek to become physically fit, some enjoy the sporting aspect of tournaments, and others just want to have fun. Taekwon-do is known as one of the best means of developing and enhancing:
